I love decorating my door with a welcome wreath. Since I live in an apartment, the only external decorations I can have in my entrance are my doormat and a wreath by the door. Since we just moved to our apartment last August, I’ve only had a christmas wreath which I DIY’d and a valentine wreath which I purchased off the rack. Now that it’s spring, it was time for a DIY spring/summer wreath with vibrant, fun colors.
In this DIY spring wreath, I used peach, white, and green colors. I only needed a basic wreath made of branches, some artificial flowers, and a glue gun with glue stick. When I was choosing artificial flowers, I tried to choose the ones that really looked lifelike, while at the same time, being in my budget. I didn’t want to spend a fortune on it since I am a mom who has two kids and I’m always thinking about saving money for the future of my family.
When designing the wreath, I first placed leaves on the wreath as a base. I then grouped three flowers into a single cluster and glued them on different sides of the wreath, taking into consideration balance and symmetry. I then grouped one flower, one leaf, and one flower filler into one cluster and placed them in the vacant areas of the wreath.
As you can see, I like grouping things into three because it somehow gives a balance. Once I was happy with the placement of the flowers, I then added leaves and flower fillers in places I felt needed it in order to create symmetry.
It’s now hung on my front door, giving me a smile everytime I open it.

- Glue the flowers in three’s on different sides of the wreath.
